An Introduction to Horses

In addition to the joy of riding, horses are wonderful, friendly, loving pets. This experience is for those who have not previously spent time with horses, or even for those who are afraid.

MONA's calm horses are there for you to explore, and learn to enjoy. A demonstration and lesson on horse behaviour and training is followed by a gentle and safe hands on experience. This can be as adventurous or as restrained as you wish.

All exercises are on the ground, no riding required.

Horse Riding - Experienced Riders

For the dedicated rider MONA offers a more adventurous horseriding experience...

The ride starts out with a delightful walk through the formal gardens before crossing the creek bed (currently dry) to take your horse for a "test run" on the equestrian arena.

From here we walk, trot or canter up the hill, along the western boundary, following along the walking track. At the top of the hills are wonderful views across the rolling hills east of Braidwood, all the way to Mount Budawang. Read more »

Horse Riding - Beginners

Enjoy exploring MONA's 120 acres on horse back escorted by Kerry on Shadow. This experience is for less experienced riders seeking to enjoy and experience a gentle ride around the property.

Horse Accommodation

Bring your horse on holiday... MONA offers luxury stables for up to 6 horses, large day yards, equestrian arena and 100 farm acres of prime horse riding country-side. The location in Braidwood is perfect for an Australian horseriding holiday.

In 2012 we have also added a cutting arena/large round yard, and a mechanical cow for the Cutting enthusiasts.

We are also happy to arrange feed for your horse. Just advise what you require and we will arrange for it to be delivered by our local produce store. Read more »
