Mona dates back to the very first land title of the Braidwood district in 1827 when Dr Thomas Braidwood Wilson (after whom the town is named) was granted the land in recognition of his services as a Naval Surgeon Superintendent. The first steam flour mill in the district was constructed at Mona in the 1840s. |
